What one piece of advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Everyone has a reason for whatever they say and do. You might not agree with it but it does give you pause for thought.
You find £20 down the back of the sofa, what do you spend it on?
I would take my family out for tea or spend it on my latest hobby – painting by numbers!
If you could spend 20 minutes with a successful or famous businessperson, who would you choose and why?
I would love to spend 20 minutes with Eddie Izzard. He’s not your traditional ‘entrepreneur’ but he’s a comedian, actor, writer, super marathon runner and now budding politician. What he doesn’t know about re-inventing oneself and perception probably isn’t worth knowing.
If you could be stuck in a lift with any two people, who would you choose and why?
Bear Grylls (he’d get us out in no time) and probably 2020 Network member Sally McHugh from Mind Solutions Hypnotherapy to calm me down!
Where do you see yourself in 20 years’ time?
On a beach/cruise ship/somewhere far away (as long as they have a wifi connection so I can do a little work if I need to).
What’s been your personal highlight since joining 2020?
Building confidence and belonging to something bigger than me. It sounds like a cliché but the ladies at 2020 are so supportive, welcoming and friendly and it’s great to be able to support the CAFT charity.
You have 20 days’ holiday to spend away from your business, where and how will you spend it?
Relaxing on a beach, visiting friends and family and seeing new and exciting places.
What will you be doing at (the time) 20:20 tomorrow evening?
Probably drinking as it will be Friday night – I don’t do that all the time!
What advice would you give to a woman starting out in their first 2 years of business?
Just do it BUT take the lessons along the way and don’t beat yourself up if things ‘go wrong’. Also, own it (that’s taken me a while) don’t be afraid to say who you are and what you do. Stop using phrases like ‘I’m just a….’ or ‘Oh I don’t do much really…’
You can have 2 minutes time with a famous person. Who would you choose to spend it with and why?
Eddie Izzard – I just love that man!
Tell us 2 things the rest of the 2020 members might not know about you.
I’m an introvert and I’m (still) scared of the dark!
