Next up in the 2020 interview hot seat is Sue Chadwick from Celebrate Amour. Very apt considering we’ve all just celebrated Valentine’s day!
Sue and Allie Parry are a mother/daughter team providing table favours and small table decorations for weddings, parties and celebrations. Their range spans from decorated boxes containing sweets right up to a full bespoke package to fit your theme, colourway and budget.
They also offer a Wedding Room Set Up service for those couples who have bought all the decorating items for their Wedding Reception but don’t have time on the day to set it all up. They will follow your plan, layout all the decorations to your design and send you (or an integral member of your bridal party) a photo before your guests arrive so you know it’s perfect. They can also set up rooms for any other party or celebration in the same way.

Now let’s get to know Sue better…
What one piece of advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Don’t panic – the job you are in now isn’t going to be the one you do forever.
You find £20 down the back of the sofa, what do you spend it on?
A treat – I’d take my daughter out for coffee and cake.
If you could spend 20 minutes with a successful or famous businessperson, who would you choose and why?
Richard Branson. He has so many different business ideas and doesn’t let himself get pigeonholed in to just one type of business. I would love to get some advice from him on how to develop all the different business ideas I keep having.
If you could be stuck in a lift with any two people, who would you choose and why?
A yoga teacher to help us meditate and keep calm and a firefighter (with full equipment) to get us out! And it better not be a glass lift as they terrify me!
Where do you see yourself in 20 years’ time?
In retirement with a couple of grandchildren to dote on.
What’s been your personal highlight since joining 2020?
I have had a business change and feel ready to embark into 2020 with lots of new plans.
What’s the best thing about being a member of 2020?
The support from all the members. Everyone is so helpful, offering advice and friendship
You have 20 days’ holiday to spend away from your business, where and how will you spend it?
Somewhere nice and warm on a lovely beach with a huge pile of books to read (and not a Kindle – I love the feel of a real book in my hand and the smell of the pages!).
What advice would you give to a woman starting out in their first 2 years of business?
Get your target audience right and decide how you are going to help them with your business. Once you know that you know exactly where to find that audience to target your marketing. Also, it doesn’t all have to be set in stone – if it doesn’t work don’t be afraid to change it.
You can have 2 minutes time with a famous person. Who would you choose to spend it with and why?
Robbie Williams and ask him to sing Angels. He is my favourite artist and Angels came out the year my daughter (Allie) was born. She is a huge Robbie fan and sings his songs all the time and she had Angels as her entrance music when she got married (made me cry happy tears).
Tell us 2 things the rest of the 2020 members might not know about you.
- Annie Lennox is a distant cousin on my Dad’s side of the family.
- I have done a lot of amateur dramatics (backstage and acting) over the years.

This is my husband, Jeff, and I on our annual trip to the Manchester Christmas Markets. We are practising our selfies as we usually cut one of us out and look in the wrong direction! 🤣
